Coimbatore: Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam ( AMMK) candidate, Sugumar who has been fielded to contest in the upcoming by-elections in Sulur met with the party cadres at a hotel near Thennampalayam, today.
Coimbatore: Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam ( AMMK) candidate, Sugumar who has been fielded to contest in the upcoming by-elections in Sulur met with the party cadres at a hotel near Thennampalayam, today.
Sugumar hails from Samathur, near Pollachi and has represented Pollachi as the MP between 2009 -2014. Addressing the media, he said, “AMMK will win in all 22 assembly constituencies. I thank the party for electing me to contest in the Sulur Constituency. AMMK will emerge victorious with a high margin of votes. There are many issues unresolved in Sulur Constituency. Importance will be given to the establishment of the Somanur power loom park, restoration of Sulur lakes, establishing a commercial tax office and development of the Government Hospital."
Sugumar holds the post of AAMK’s Coimbatore District Suburb Secretary and is in charge of the Pollachi parliamentary elections for his party AMMK. He was also District Suburb Secretary from 2001–2003 for AIADMK and District Assistant Secretary for AIADMK from 2004-2005. Sugumar was Pollachi (south) Secretary (1993-2017) for AIADMK and District Additional Secretary (1991–1993) for AIADMK. He was also Union Chairman of Pollachi (south) from 1986–1991, Union member (1996–2000) and Panchayat Leader, Coimbatore district (2001 –2006).
